Questions about this webinar
Do veterans have to enroll in Medicare Part B?
Veterans with VA health care are not required to enroll in Part B, but VA coverage does not replace Medicare. If you skip Part B and want it later, you may owe a lifetime late-enrollment penalty, so it is worth reviewing your situation before you decide.
Does Medicare pay for care at VA hospitals?
Generally, no. Medicare does not usually pay for services you receive from VA facilities, and the VA generally does not pay for care from non-VA providers unless it has been authorized. Each system covers its own network.
What is TRICARE For Life and does it need Medicare?
TRICARE For Life is secondary coverage for eligible military retirees and family members age 65 and older. To keep TRICARE For Life, you must have Medicare Part A and Part B.
Is VA prescription coverage good enough to skip Medicare Part D?
VA drug coverage is generally considered creditable, which can allow you to delay Part D without a penalty. It is still smart to confirm this for your situation and compare options if you use non-VA pharmacies.
Is this veterans webinar free?
